ICT at YNRMI-EA
Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is a major focus of the institute, these efforts including:
- The creation of a computer center at YNRMI-EA. The Institute includes a local area network with over 150 personal computers, divided in several classrooms and public access areas, and a spread spectrum wireless link a local Internet Service Provider (ISP), allowing a broadband permanent Internet connection
- VSAT-Broadband is an on-going effort by YNRMI-EA and other International Development Research Centre and organizations to connect the Institute with other local and International Universities to the Internet and train students in using information technology to improve the quality of education offered to students.
- ICT at YNRMI-EA. The department will teach ICT skills to students and offer continuing education programs to the community at large. The goals of the project are wide-ranging and include: building the Institute capable of effectively teaching and conducting ICT-related research on Natural Resource; and enhancing capacity in the community at large by means of training in the use of ICT.
